ABOUT
Montgomery Slacks are a Nottingham-based blues rock quartet drawing on the raw energy of 1970s rock, soul and progressive influences. Known for muscular riffs and powerful vocals, the band delivers a live show built for audiences who want their blues rock with real bite.
Formed by guitarist and songwriter Callum during lockdown in 2020, the band expanded into its current four-piece line-up in 2024. Lead vocalist Sarah brings a distinctive stage presence shaped by an eclectic musical upbringing, including the influence of Frank Zappa. Bassist Fabio's melodic, rhythmically driven playing anchors the band's grooves and adds rich harmonies, while drummer Matt provides a versatile, dynamic backbone that supports Callum's guitar work, which moves fluidly between blues, folk rock, and progressive rock.
Citing Led Zeppelin, Queen, Free and the Allman Brothers Band among their touchstones, Montgomery Slacks take a collaborative, push-each-other approach to songwriting and performance, resulting in a sound that's both rooted in classic rock traditions and open to more adventurous territory.
Live highlights include a headline slot at the Guildhall as part of Dart Music Festival. The band released their debut EP, Dragonfly, in 2024, alongside a run of singles. Their track "Fuel to the Fire" received BBC Introducing airplay in January, and a second EP, Navigator, is due for release later this year.
